Pros:
Original
Fun fighting system
Entertaining voice acting
Nice visuals
Cons:
Bad camera angles
No in mission checkpoints
Small maps
Repetitive – Especially if you die! No checkpoints.
The bad camera angles are highlighted in the boss battles. The button used to lock the view onto the boss is flaky at best.
Missions are setup to last approximately 30 minutes. At the end of the missions is a main boss battle. It takes about 20 minutes of fighting to reach the boss. If you fail on the boss, get ready to redo the whole mission. Puke!
No checkpoints + repetitive + small maps = Not Fun = Chores.
I don’t have the motivation to continue the game.

I had been eagerly awaiting MadWorld. I was waiting for it to go on sale, and I was excited when I finally picked it up last weekend. The comic-book style visuals and gritty premise looked promising.
I’m sorry to say that I was disappointed. Not with the art, which was indeed well done, even bold. The controls are above-average, I was moving along pretty well after 15 minutes or so. Loading times are even pretty good.
The problem is the game just has no class whatsoever. Shocking, I know. But there is a line, and this game crossed it decisively. I was not expecting anything but shocking gory violence, and I still didn’t like what I saw. Brutal is simply the word for it. I recently played through No More Heroes on the Wii, and that game also features ridiculous violence and gallons of blood, but there is a difference. A shred of humanity perhaps? Some kind of narrative that places the madness in context? Even a touch of irony?
There is nothing in MadWorld but base crudity. I cannot in good conscience recommend this game to anyone.

Sure blood and guts is cool. But with no story, what’s the point? It was fun for about five minutes, but after that you keep asking yourself…ok, now what? I took it back the same day. For a more satisfying violent experience, I would suggest Call of Duty: World at War, Resident Evil 4, and Bully. Bully is actually a very violent video game, even though it is rated Teen. More realistic, and funny too. In what other game can you beat up your teachers?
As for Mad World. Skip it.

Good graphics and good Wii action does not save a game that is ultimately uninspiring and uninteresting. Played 5 minutes about three times and just knew it had to go back.

After enjoying No More Heroes a great deal, I thought I would try MadWorld. What a mistake.
It’s just mind-numbing gore with no plot or entertaining value. After finishing a few levels I tired of the game
and got rid of it. Graphics are great, but it’s just no where near as fun as No More Heroes.
